ePortfolio
Would you like to keep a record of your progress as you learn? Would you like to have an easy way to show a school, college, university or employer what level you have reached?
Read about the Electronic European Language Portfolio (eELP) below to find out how you can do this for English and any other languages you know.
The Electronic European Language Portfolio (eELP)
The Electronic European Language Portfolio is a practical means of helping you to learn more languages and engage with other cultures. You can use the eELP to:
- present your language skills
- record your certificates
- record your language learning experience outside the classroom
The eELP lets you record your skills, experience and qualifications for any language and at any level. It uses the common European system of six language proficiency levels: the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This means that if you go to another country to work or study, your new employer, school, college or university will easily understand what level you have reached in English or the other languages you know.
The eELP has three sections:
- Passport: where you record your language learning. Update it as you learn more.
- Language Biography: where you record your personal language learning history including intercultural experiences and where you indicate your future language learning aims
- Dossier: where you keep your certificates and copies of any work you have done which shows your language level
